The ChallengeQueens Moat Houses Plc is a leading European hotel group with a well located portfolio of quality hotels. With sites in city centres close to airports and in the countryside, Moat Houses Hotels vary not only in size and scale, but in the differing complexity of their requirements for security and health and safety systems. Reflex comprehensively reviewed safety and security of staff and guests over 15 years ago, providing a total solution that covered all of the group’s UK hotels. Current updates utilize technology including the latest video surveillance and recording equipment, access control, and audio visual systems. Having continually met the client’s requirements, Reflex were called back to conduct a further global security surveillance and access control review of all their UK hotels and to tender for the critical maintenance element of the contract.
Reflex found although all existing car parks contained camera surveillance and detection, car parks are a natural target for theft and vandalism. Further improvements were achieved by increasing the overall lighting, incorporating Access Control where it didn’t already exist, and installing the latest external Panasonic camera technology. A combination of static and functional cameras were employed within the hotels themselves and more comprehensive coverage was also provided to key areas such as reception areas. Provision was made for the latest hard disc digital recording systems, allowing instant access and retrieval of high quality digital recordings at the push of a button. Scheduled maintenance visits to all Queens Moat House sites are planned annually, with the exception of selected sites or equipment, which are attended more regularly by request. The contract operates on a 24-7, 365 days a year 24 hour response basis, supported by a team of regionally based field engineers, who are managed and briefed by Reflex’s dedicated national call centre to ensure the Moat House Hotels brand standards are adhered to.
