The Challenge

As the closest hotel to Stansted Airport and the only hotel directly connected to the airport concourse, the Radisson Blu Hotel London Stansted Airport is the best choice for those using Stansted.  With 500 guest rooms, 26 meeting rooms, fitness and spa facilities and the world famous Wine Tower Bar, the hotel is ranked by MSNBC and Forbes as one of the world’s best airport hotels.  A regular review of on-site technologies led to Reflex being invited to submit proposals for security upgrade works.

The Solution

Much of the original installation delivered via the building contractor did not meet the operational needs of the hotel or its security management.  Reflex re-engineered the CCTV system by replacing and relocating camera positions, achieving significant improvement in coverage of all areas.  Included in these upgrades was the replacement of the recording and control hardware with a more comprehensive and appropriate management system, utilising state-of-the art Vicon Kollector technology with suitable storage and remote operation for additional users.  The upgrade also included the addition of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) to all vehicle entry and exit barriers.
