The Wakefield Grammar School Foundation is a collection of private schools consisting of Queen Elizabeth Grammar, Wakefield Girls High School and Mulberry House Nursery. The foundation equates to a 19 person governing body, 500 teaching and support staff as well as 2,100 pupils.
With pupil safety being paramount and a large area to cover, the governing board were concerned the current security procedures were unsecure and required an extra layer of security.
The school needed a system that would help to see approaching strangers on the site. The boys’ school has a gate that remains largely open during school hours and the girls’ has a low wall around the buildings that could easily be scaled by a trespasser.
Reflex Systems is one of the few companies that can provide the right combination of skill and product choice to effectively deliver multi disciplined projects covering security and safety, offering the client a low risk option whilst guaranteeing excellent results.
Our team worked with the foundation to help determine a tailor made solution to their problem. We knew camera performance and image quality were a top priority for the school. As an established Tyco partner we adhered to these requirements by specifying and installing exaxqVision VMS software, along with network video recorders and 15 Illustra high-resolution IP cameras to secure the campus’ perimeter.
Another major concern the foundation had before beginning the project was ensuring the school’s bandwidth would be able to handle distribution of camera signals with no disruption. Using our extensive technological industry knowledge and experience, we helped the IT team design a solution that would work perfectly with no risk of interference.
Our adaptability and clear communication with the client resulted in an end-to-end solution from design consultation, through to implementation and specifying products. The seamless installation resulted in Reflex optimizing performance and providing the desired result – a much safer environment for pupils and staff.
